In addition to first-run coverage of these events, The Golf Channel will also be home to complete ball-by-ball coverage of the 2005, 2007 and 2009 Solheim Cup competitions.
The Golf Channel, which is available in more than half of US television households, representing nearly 70 million subscribers, as well as in the UK, Canada and Japan, has aired LPGA tournaments since the cable network was launched in 1995.
Said Ty Votaw, LPGA commissioner: “The Golf Channel has been and continues to be a great partner for the LPGA. In extending our deal with The Golf Channel, it gives millions of golf fans more LPGA coverage than ever before, as well as giving the next three Solheim Cup competitions a home.”
Along with the 10 LPGA Tour events and The Solheim Cup, The Golf Channel will be the host network for the Women’s World Cup of Golf, the first two rounds of the McDonald’s LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola, an LPGA major, and the first three rounds of the ADT Championship.
