EUROSPORT READY FOR ITALIAN RIDE

Eurosport has acquired exclusive cable and satellite rights in Europe for live coverage of all major Italian cycling races.

In addition to renewing the Giro d’Italia (May 7-29), Eurosport has won back the rights to Milan-San Remo (March 19) and the Giro di Lombardia (October 15).

The package also includes the Tirreno-Adriatico race (March 9-15). Eurosport, which reaches 100 million homes, will televise the races in more than 54 countries.

Eurosport say the four cycling events will complete the best cycling offer that it has ever had.

In 2005, Eurosport’s events include:

C the three major cycling tours: Tour de France, Giro (Tour of Italy) and Vuelta (Tour of Spain)
C all the great "Classics", top one-day races and stage races such as Paris-Nice, Milan-San Remo, Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Giro di Lombardia, etc.
C the World Road Championships

In total, Eurosport will broadcast more than 200 hours of cycling (with more than 150 hours live), while Eurosport 2 - the new channel launched in early January - will transmit 40 hours.
