SOUTH AFRICAN RUGBY LOSS

South Africa Rugby has posted a 12.8million rand ($2.2million) loss for 2004.

President Brian van Rooyen has already hired accounting firm KPMG to complete a "forensic audit", reports RUGBYeNEWS.com

On Thursday last week it was suggested that the significant loss was partly because of payouts totaling 5.5million rand ($922,000).

Severance packages were handed out to officials such as former SA Rugby managing director Rian Oberholzer and former coach Rudolf Straeuli.
