2012 BID NEWS: PARIS SAYS PROTEST WILL NOT AFFECT IOC VISIT

Tagged in

Paris bid officials have played down a trade-union demonstration that coincides with a visit by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) evaluation commission next month.

In a statement they said the trade unions involved had earlier consulted with Paris 2012 and guaranteed that the demonstration would in no way impact the IOC visit.

The demonstration is “not related in any way to the Paris bid," according to the statement.

And Philippe Baudillon, CEO of Paris 2012, said: “All of the French trade unions want the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

"They continue to cooperate with the bid committee and have already stated their commitment to working with the organising committee should Paris have the honour of becoming a host city.”
