SERIE A PARTNERSHIP EXTENDED

Sportfive and Rai Trade are to extend their co-distribution arrangement for the marketing of Serie A’s international TV rights beyond season 2004/05.

Both have been distributing the international TV signals for Italy’s top soccer club championship for six years.

Agreements with 63 TV channels have been struck for the current season, delivering live coverage to fans in more than 180 countries.

Rai Trade and Sportfive have already extended agreements with 19 teams in Serie A and Serie B for up to four more seasons. Among the deals already in place are home matches for clubs AC Milan, Juventus FC, Internazionale and AS Roma. The four top clubs represent more than 40 per cent of all Serie A matches broadcast worldwide last season.

The two parties are said to be optimistic about concluding extended agreements with the remaining clubs within the next few days.
