The European Seniors Tour breaks new ground later this year when it stages its first tournament in Denmark, the Scandinavian Seniors Open.

It will be held at the historic Royal Copenhagen Golf Club from September 9 to 11, 2005.

The 54-hole tournament will feature the leading 40 players from the European Seniors Tour Order of Merit competing in a Pro-Am format during the early rounds, and professionals only in the final round.

There will be a total prize fund of euros 250,000, the winner receiving euros 40,700.

The European Challenge Tour has staged a tournament in Denmark annually since 1993 and The European Tour featured the Nordic Open in 2003, but it is a first for the European Seniors Tour, as is the trip to Royal Copenhagen Golf Club.
