The BBC is reportedly looking to launch its own dedicated sports channel.
The new station would air more coverage of minority sports normally sidelined by the major broadcasters, according to a report in London’s Evening Standard newspaper.
Minor sports are said to struggle for financial support through sponsorship due to a lack of TV coverage.
An earlier joint-venture with NTL for a 'British Sport' channel, broadcasting footage from the BBC archives, was dropped in 2001.
