The event will be known as the ‘DHL New Zealand Lions Series’ after the multi-million dollar deal with the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU).
The British & Irish Lions will play 11 matches on their tour of New Zealand in June to July 2005, including three Tests against the All Blacks.
DHL Express regional director, Oceania, Gary Edstein, said the company was pleased to be involved in the landmark sponsorship and it was an ideal opportunity for the organisation to become involved with what he described as an "iconic series".
NZRU chief executive, Chris Moller, said: "We are thrilled to be entering this partnership with DHL for what will be one of the most important sporting events ever held in New Zealand. The NZRU conducted a global sponsorship search and we are excited to have a respected worldwide organisation like DHL on board."
Moller added that the DHL New Zealand Lions Series would be watched by a global TV audience of millions.
