2012 BID NEWS: FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE...

Moscow has come up with a novel way to appeal to International Olympic Committee (IOC) members ahead of their decision on who hosts the 2012 Summer Games.

IOC members around the world will receive a Valentine’s Day card from the Moscow 2012 Bid Committee.

Said Russian TV star and director of PR for the bid, Julia Bordovskikh: “Muscovites and Russians alike are passionate about Moscow hosting the 2012 Olympic Games. This Valentine’s Day card is one light -hearted way of communicating this tremendous support and overall love of sport to IOC members.

“We really have the support of the entire nation with some 90 per cent of Muscovites and 89 per cent of Russians supporting our bid.”

The cards will be sent to all IOC members to mark Valentine’s Day and include images of Moscow City and the Moscow 2012 bid.

The card reads: “Be my Valentine...From Russia with Love”.
