ORYX QUEST UNDERWAY

Four of the largest and fastest multi-hull boats left Qatar on Saturday for the Oryx Quest 2005 non-stop round the world race.

It is the fulfilment of Tracy Edward's concept to create, for the first time, a race between the multi-hulls with a $1million winning prize.

Participants in the HSBC sponsored event are Cheyenne, representing the US and skippered by Dave Scully, Daedalus (UK) skippered by Tony Bullimore,
Geronimo (France) skippered by Olivier de Kersauson and Doha 2006 (Qatar) led by Brian Thomson.

The Doha entry is sponsored by DAGOC, the organising committee for the Doha Asian Games being held in Qatar in December 2006.

The winning boat is expected to return to Doha in around 60 days time. The race can be followed at www.oryxquest.com
