DUCATI AND XEROX IN SUPERBIKE PARTNERSHIP

Ducati Corse has announced that Xerox, the technology and business services provider, will be its new title sponsor for the 2005 World Superbike Championship.

The deal will initially run for two years and see the team renamed Ducati Xerox Team.

The partnership marks Xerox’s second year in World Superbike sponsorship. Xerox were introduced to the world of Superbike racing in 2004 with Stefano Caracchi’s satellite Ducati NCR team, but now seem to have their sights set on the top by teaming up with the championship’s most successful team.

The Ducati Corse factory team has won five of the last seven World Riders Championships and the Ducati Xerox Team enters 2005 as reigning champions in both constructor and rider Championships.

The 2005 championship will be held over 12 rounds beginning in Doha, Qatar on February 26. It crosses three continents before the final round at Magny Cours, France on October 9.
