In combination with the consolidation of the team’s supplier base through new agreements with Tecnomatix and Champion, the team enters the 2005 season in robust commercial health.
Said managing director Flavio Briatore. “This is a young brand which combines a spirit of flair and creativity with the cutting-edge technology of watchmaking, and these qualities chime perfectly with the character of the Renault F1 Team.”
The deal follows consolidation of the team’s base of official technical suppliers, having reached agreements with Tecnomatix (UK) and Champion (a division of Federal Mogul, USA). Tecnomatix will supply the team with software inspection solutions, while Champion will extend its historic supply of sparking plugs that dates back nearly 30 years.
“With the current focus on cost-cutting in Formula One,” concluded Flavio Briatore, “it is important to stress that we must not only find ways to limit spending, but also guarantee our revenues. At the Renault F1 Team, we pride ourselves not only on our performance, but also on offering value to money to the companies who invest in our success.”
In addition to commercial success in Italy, Chronotech watches are distributed internationally in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and the USA.
