EUROLEAGUE TEAM UP WITH TICKETS.COM

Euroleague Basketball and Tickets.com have entered a five-year agreement that provides all Euroleague clubs with software to manage ticket inventory and customer databases.

This latest agreement follows last month’s announcement of an arrangement between Euroleague, CSKA Moscow and Tickets.com to make tickets available on-line, worldwide, for the 2005 Euroleague Final Four, in Moscow on May 6 to 8.

Said Marshall Glickman, Euroleague consultant: “Euroleague’s attendance has shown dramatic increases over the last five years – at the end of last season, attendance had increased 45 per cent over the first four years of the competition and this season, attendance is already up 20 per cent through the first 10 weeks.

“As our clubs continue to upgrade the quality of their sales efforts, they require more sophisticated support.”

“We believe Euroleague is on the cutting edge of professional sports in Europe,” said Tickets.com European managing director, Simon Crane.

“The five-year term of our agreement indicates that we are very optimistic that professional basketball, under Euroleague’s stewardship, will continue to grow, especially with young audiences.”
