A poll of New York City residents released last week shows support for a stadium is waning, especially if the stadium costs taxpayers money. And even if the stadium makes money, only 53 per cent of those polled are in favour of the project.
“Too often bid cities make promises they can’t deliver on”, says Doctoroff, noting the 10-step process for stadium approval has reached the last two steps, coming next month.
Step 10, supposedly the final one, involves a three-member panel from the state legislature that could vote before the end of Feburary.
