ESPN CLASSIC SPORT LAUNCHES IN PORTUGAL

ESPN Classic Sport has launched in Portugal on popular cable network Cabovisao.

The 24/7, English-language service offers a mix of the greatest sporting moments from Europe, and around the world, covering over 80 different sports.

Programmes slated for 2005 include: memorable matches from the Australian Open Tennis; an insight into Mike Tyson; as well as a major Winter Olympic Games special showcasing unforgettable moments from a variety of ski-ing greats.

In the last six months the channel has rolled out in over 10 new territories including Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Monaco and Poland. ESPN Classic Sport already has widespread distribution among multi-channel homes in France and Italy (88 per cent and 100 per cent, respectively)

The ESPN Classic Sport channel, which schedules programmes to complement real-time live action sports events, was launched in Europe in 2002.
