OGDEN WINS BEIJING STADIUM CONTRACT

Brisbane-based international venue management company, Ogden International Facilities Corporation, is to provide advice for the design of the 80,000-seat stadium planned for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Ogden IFC chairman and CEO, Harvey Lister, said the company’s role was to review the stadium design, advise on the operating effectiveness of the current design and recommend solutions to China’s National Stadium Company Ltd.

“This will be undertaken utilising the expertise of operations staff from two stadia currently managed by Ogden IFC – Telstra Stadium (the home of the 2000 Olympic Games) in Sydney and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

“Our aim is to provide the Chinese with technical and operational services that will assist in this becoming one of the great stadiums of the world,” he said.
