BEIJING MAY BREAK ALL RECORDS

The Beijing Summer Olympic Games in 2008 look set to smash all sponsorship records with corporate sponsorship worth $1billion.

GamesBids.com reports that there are already confirmed agreements with six sponsors including Volkswagen, Bank of China and China Mobile to the tune of $600million, with large corporations keen to promote their brands in China.

Gerhard Heiberg, chairman of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) marketing commission, is reported to have said Beijing will reach the $1billion figure.

The Beijing domestic sponsorship figure excludes amounts raised by the IOC’s TOP worldwide sponsorship programme for multinational companies.
