VERIO EUROPE HOSTS SUBARU SITE

Verio Europe, a subsidiary of NTT Communications will host the Subaru World Rally Team’s website.

Verio will also become a technology partner for the Subaru World Rally Team. Verio Europe will provide critical Internet infrastructure, managed security services and high performance online solutions for The Subaru World Rally Team website at swrt.com.

The site will provide fans with live information about team news, rally news and latest images throughout the World Rally Championship. The site is visited by an estimated 160,000 fans during each rally, a total of more than 2.5 million visitors throughout the championships.

The site has a subscribed fan base of 50,000 members, containing a variety of interactive material including live event results, factory tours, driver and team information, an online merchandise store and an image library of over 3,000 high resolution images.

Verio Europe will deliver content in real time for the Subaru World Rally Team site with its Verio Smart Content Delivery service. The Smart Content Delivery (SCD) solution is a collection of intelligent content delivery services that allow event sites with peaks in Internet traffic to distribute content more effectively.

"During live stages of the rally, the site is updated every 30 seconds with information from the leaderboard including weather conditions, driver soundbites, accidents, technical bulletins and an insight into each driver's performance," said Colin Clark, SWRT commercial manager.

Verio Europe is technology partner to UEFA, The FA and International Tennis Federation (ITF).
