South African Football Association (SAFA) president Molefi Oliphant said that Jordaan will almost certainly be appointed chief executive of the 2010 LOC, reports the BBC.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter said that the LOC should be chaired by Irvin Khosa and Oliphant should remain at the helm of SAFA. He also said that Jordaan, who spearheaded South Africa's successful bid to host the 2010 World Cup, should be brought in as chief executive of the LOC.
Oliphant said Blatter’s suggestion was agreed after it was put to the SAFA executive.
The acceptance of Blatter's suggestions means Oliphant will stand for re-election as SAFA president instead of stepping aside later this year as he had indicated he would.
