In interviews in recent years Blatter has consistently said he would only service two four-year terms. But this week he tells France Football he’s changed his mind.
The soccer supremo wants to use the time to examine various elements of the game including the confusing offside law and the use of electronic devices to provide assistance to referees.
Blatter said FIFA would try a new system invented by adidas, using an electronic microchip in the ball to determine whether the ball has crossed the goal line.
The system will be tested during the English League Cup final next month.
