2012 BID NEWS: LARFARGE ADDS WEIGHT TO PARIS BID

Lafarge, the world’s leading supplier of construction materials, has joined the companies backing Paris’ bid to host the Games in 2012.

It teams up with 13 other French companies in the Paris 2012 Corporate Club - including Accenture, Accor, Airbus, Bouygues, Carrefour, CrC)dit Agricole, EDF, France TC)lC)com, Lafarge, LagardC(re, RATP, Renault, Suez and VediorBis - who between them employ more than 2 million people.

Bernard Kasriel, Lafarge’s general manager, said: “As well as being the world’s premier sports event, the Olympic Games are also a fantastic opportunity to boost more sustainable construction methods and develop them with respect to environmental issues and social progress.”
