Thailand’s government has officially endorsed the country’s proposal to bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, reports TNA.
A committee - established to look at the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) criteria for hosting the Games - ruled that Bangkok would be ready to host the 2016 Games.
It cited cooperation between the government and local residents, adequate infrastructure and transport systems, experience in holding international sporting events and financial preparedness.
The government committee in charge of the 2007 University Games in Thailand will draw up a detailed plan for Thailand’s Olympic bid.
