CRICKET'S NEW TV DEAL

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will today reveal a new TV deal for 2006 to 2009.

It could result in home Test matches disappearing from terrestrial TV for the first time.

BSkyB is believed to have offered £60million for exclusivity, but the ECB has been under pressure to ensure some coverage remains for terrestrial TV viewers, reports the BBC.

Channel 4 has screened England's home Test matches since 1999 when they ended the BBC's 61-year tenure.

Extending that agreement could cost the ECB as much as £20million, according to reports.
