The www.daviscup.com site had more than over 250,000 visitor sessions for a Davis Cup weekend, as it has for every tie weekend since the 2003 World Group semi-finals and play-offs in September last year.
There were 1.3 million page views recorded during the 2004 final, up from just over 1 million for last year’s final.
Said Mat Pemble, ICT manager at the ITF: “Our policy of giving links to the scoreboard for National Associations to use on their own websites, in return for links to content in languages other than English, has benefited fans, national associations and the ITF.”
The Fed Cup website, www.fedcup.com, has also seen growth. During the Fed Cup semi-finals and finals week, the site recorded over 120,000 visitor sessions, up from just over 100,000 last year with over 800,000 page views, compared to just under 600,000 in 2003.
Nearly 12.8 million live scoring hits also represented a substantial increase on last year’s 7.3 million.
