FOUR IN FIGHT FOR 2009 SUPER BOWL

NFL chiefs have unveiled a four-city shortlist in the race to host the 2009 Super Bowl.

Following a league meeting in Atlanta, the finalists have been confirmed as Tampa Bay, Miami, Atlanta and Houston.
Miami has hosted the event on eight occasions, at two separate venues, and is already confirmed as host of the 2007 game.
Atlanta has hosted the game twice, Tampa Bay on three occasions, and Houston twice.
The 2005 game takes place at the Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville – the first time it has hosted what is traditionally one of the biggest sporting events in the world, commanding huge domestic TV audiences.
The NFL’s Super Bowl committee puts forward the four candidates with the successful city to be named at meeting of league owners scheduled to take place in May, 2005.
