NFL EXTENDS VIDEO DEAL

The NFL has extended its deal with Visual Data to provide searchable video of every key play for each team to power it's fantasy football offering.

The contract will continue for the current 2004 regular season into the postseason, culminating with the Super Bowl in February.

The business services firm - which sells video and rich media
communication, webcasting and digital asset management - is also used for the subscription-based ‘Field Pass’, through which users also access live radio game broadcasts.

The company gets each game's video live from a satellite, merges the encoded video streams with radio broadcast audio and automatically aligns feeds from the stadiums to create continuous video highlights.

For ‘Field Pass’, Visual Data gathers content from NFL Films, daily NFL Network content and live game media to deliver "Gameday," a package of game highlights.

Other major sports organisations using Visual Data's services include NASCAR, ESPN and major PGA tournaments.
