JosC) Angel SC!nchez, the club’s director of marketing and the man most credited for the club’s marketing turnaround in recent years, has said the day could come when the Bernabeu has a sponsor’s naming rights deal attached to it.
Speaking at a sports marketing conference at the university of San Pablo Ceu in Madrid on Monday, he said: “It wouldn’t be a scandal if one day the club accepted naming rights for the Bernabeu.
“We have to stop thinking that all marketing activities are an attack on the history of the club and the sentimental feelings of the supporters.”
The Marca sports paper are currently asking Madrid fans to vote on whether they think such a move would be well received.
After 24 hours of voting, 65 per cent out of more than 11,000 voters say they would not approve of such a measure.
