The recently released bid book shows that only four venues need to be constructed if the city hosts the Games – the Olympic Pavilion where the gymnastics will take place, the Olympic Ring Velodrome, the Paracuellos Shooting Centre and the La Gavia Park Wildwater Canal.
GamesBids.com reports that Madrid 2012 already has 26 existing venues - higher than the number originally submitted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Madrid will host three competitions in 2005 prior to the host city selection in July. In March the European Indoor Athletics Championships will take place, in April the Taekwondo World Cup and in June the finals of the Archery World Championships.
