NASCAR FORMS CANADIAN ALLIANCE

Nascar is to link up with the Canadian Association for Stock Car Auto Racing in an effort to increase interest in Canada, reports the BBC.

"Nascar's alliance with Cascar will help attract new fans to our sport and bring new opportunites to sponsors," said Nascar COO George Pyne.

Cascar, established in 1981, is the governing body for professional and amateur stock car racing in Canada.

The Cascar Super Series visits tracks from Quebec to British Columbia.
