London is the last of the cities to reveal its plans to the wider public.
One advantage over favourites Paris will be the proximity of the main stadium, the velodrome and the aquatic centre to the Olympic village – just a few minutes walk away.
The Parisian village at the Batignolles is about five miles from the Stade de France, where the athletics events will be held.
Early details of the London plan include ticket prices starting from £15, according to the BBC's website.
The city would be divided up into zones such as the central zone and river zone for ease of organisation, and there would be a World Cultural fair and Olympic carnival running alongside the Games.
Earlier this week, London revealed plans for an Olympic marathon that would take in a host of landmarks.
