The decision came following a meeting in Rome between the TOROC chief and Mario Pescante, the newly-appointed government supervisor for the 2006 Games, reports aroundtherings.com
In a statement, Castellani expressed his satisfaction with the discussion, during which he and Pescante reviewed the text of the document that spells out the roles of Pescante, Castellani and others involved with the management of the Turin Games.
The meeting this Thursday in Rome, will include the leadership of the Winter Games and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
The meeting is the second in a month aimed at solving the crisis facing Turin over a budget gap of up to 150 million euros.
Berlusconi pledged last month to offer his assistance to help cover the shortfall, blamed in part on lacklustre support in past years for Turin 2006 from the national government and Italy’s state-owned corportations.
