COMCAST AND ALTITUDE IN NUGGET DEAL

Cable television network Altitude Sports & Entertainment has reached a deal with Comcast to broadcast 70 games featuring NBA side Denver Nuggets this season.

Comcast customers began receiving the network on Saturday night, reports ESPN.com.

Altitude was launched earlier this year after Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche owner Stan Kroenke dumped Fox Sports Southwest to create his own regional cable network. Altitude reached agreements with Colorado-based Echostar's Dish Network before the season and with DirecTV on October 29.

The agreement with Comcast will help the network reach 680,000 more customers.

Denver-based Altitude will also air Colorado Rapids soccer games, Colorado Mammoth lacrosse matches and collegiate and regional sporting events in a 10-state region.
