BOA ANNOUNCE OFFICIALS

The British Olympic Association has announced the names of officials who were re-elected and newly elected at its National Olympic Committee meeting.

Chairman Craig Reedie CBE was re-elected as chairman and was initially elected in 1992. It had been his intention to stand down this year.

However he had been asked by the Government, the GLA, London 2012 and senior members of the IOC to reconsider this decision in the light of the candidature of London for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Albert Woods continues as vice chairman, a position that he has held since 1999.

Olympic Gold Medallist and former president of UK Athletics David Hemery is newly elected to the position of vice chairman.

Former vice chairman John James stepped down from this role but will continue his involvement with the BOA as chairman of the British Olympic Foundation.

Olympians Matthew Pinsent and Kate Allenby were both co-opted on to the committee as individual members.
