The newspaper reports that Glazer and his JP Morgan advisers are to drop a clause that insisted the deal to buy the Irish investors' stake was dependent on Glazer succeeding in an offer to buy the whole club.
The paper said JP Morgan had decided to make a renewed bid for Magnier and McManus's stake conditional only on seven days of due diligence on United.
Glazer, owner of American football's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has built his stake in the club to 28.11 per cent in recent weeks.
Efforts to reach Glazer were not successful.
United called off talks with Glazer last month but left the door open for further discussions.
Under takeover rules, Glazer would have to launch a formal bid for the club if his stake rose to 30 per cent.
