LACROSSE LEAGUE RETAINS TWI

The National Lacrosse League (NLL), North America’s professional indoor league, has retained the services of TWI to assist in securing a US national television partner for the 2005 season and beyond.

TWI, the division of sports management and marketing leader IMG, will also assist in the search for league sponsors to coincide with the national television package.

The NLL, which plays professional indoor lacrosse from January through to May in the same arenas used by National Hockey League and National Basketball Association teams, has previously had national broadcast agreements with the former CNN/Sports Illustrated network (2001-2002) and regional coverage on Fox Sports Net (2004).

NLL games were also carried on the YES (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) Network, Comcast Sportsnet and Empire Sports Network during the past season.

NLL teams are primarily owned and operated by the owners of the NHL/NBA teams in their respective markets, and teams play a 16-game regular season with all games at weekends.
