The multi-millionaire businessman, who gave the county board 5million euros this year to service the debt on the revamped Gaelic Grounds, is reportedly ready to take over where Moran's Red Cow Hotel Group left off.
McManus, himself from the South Liberties club in Limerick, has reportedly offered to sponsor the teams for a three-year period.
A county board source admitted that a new sponsorship package would be announced next week.
Joe McKenna, a good friend of McManus, was recently appointed selector on the senior hurling team.
