The club, who along with Athletic Bilbao, have until now steadfastly rejected shirt sponsorship to appease their traditional fanbase, have been actively searching for the right deal for more than a year now and are thought to have at least two further offers on the table, according to reports in some Spanish newspapers.
The betandwin.com offer is reported to be for a minimum of 13million euros a year, and a maximum of 17million euros depending on results on the field - placing it second only to Bayern MunichB4s deal with T-Mobile as the biggest in world football.
The democratic style of FC Barcelona, which is ran as a members’ club, meant that the club’s management had to seek the approval of such a deal from its almost 95,000 card -carrying members.
This motion was pushed through in August 2003 when it was agreed to accept proposals in excess of 10million euros.
The betandwin deal will now be considered by the managment committee and president Joan Laporta.
If accepted, it is expected to be at least six months before the first brand name appears on the club's shirts.
