LCA’s role will be to develop international television distribution for the 2005 season and beyond. Key broadcasters of Powerboat P1 in 2004 included Sky Sports and the Sailing Channel.
Speaking of the new appointment, managing director of LCA, Laura Cotterill said: “It is a great challenge to take on a sport which has had limited distribution. Powerboat P1 is hugely marketable as it combines an exciting sport with excellent programming. I very much look forward to helping put Powerboat P1 firmly on the map.”
Powerboat P1 World Championship is the world's leading race series on water. Grand Prix take place throughout Europe and North Africa, with competing teams from UK, France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
The race calendar for 2005 is due to be announced in December.
