The Professional Squash Association (PSA) confirmed that following negotiations with the Qatar Squash Federation in Mauritius, the 2004 Qatar Men's World Open Squash Championship will be held in Doha between November 28 and December 3 at the QSF Squash Centre.
Said PSA chief executive Gawain Briars: “I am delighted the Qatar Squash Federation, at this late stage, has agreed to regrade its annual Super Series event to the Qatar World Open - and we are grateful for its timely intervention.”
The 2004 Qatar World Open, the 26th World Open since the inaugural event in England in 1976, will boast a US$120,000 prize fund.
Qatar is to host the men’s World Open Squash Championship for the second time in six years next month after a last-minute deal was struck.
