A row had flared up after a number of athletes with personal endorsement deals with rival brands refused to wear the specially designed Team GB tracksuits provided by the British Olympic Association’s official sportswear partner adidas.
According to reports, while double-gold winning hero Kelly Holmes had agreed with Reebok to wear adidas gear for the event, Nike had insisted 100m-relay gold medal winner Mark Lewis-Francis and gold winning cyclist Bradley Wiggins wore their trademark ‘Swoosh’ outfits.
The date of the parade – due to take this coming Monday – falls outside of the period in which athletes were committed to wearing adidas team products.
But after intense negotiations, the BOA has persuaded all athletes taking part to wear adidas gear – and will change the way future contracts are worded to avoid a similar clash.
A BOA spokesman said: "We will look again at the contracts we sign with the athletes."
A dispute over sportswear brands which threatened to ruin a triumphant parade through the streets of London by the British Olympic team has been resolved.
