INFRONT SECURE CZECH WORLD CUP RIGHTS

Infront Sports & Media has reached an exclusive agreement with Czech TV for the television rights of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in the Czech Republic.

Czech TV is the public, free-to-air broadcaster for the Czech Republic and the agreement will ensure maximum coverage on free television. Czech TV was a broadcast partner at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and is continuing its relationship with the event.

Oliver Seibert, an executive director of Infront, FIFA’s television partner, said: “The Czech Republic is an important football market and this agreement with the state broadcaster will ensure the maximum audience for the 2006 event.

"We are covering Europe deal by deal, in line with the 'open market' distribution policy that FIFA has adopted, ensuring the best possible coverage in every market. We expect audiences in Europe to show considerable growth over 2002.”

The majority of the European agreements for the broadcast of the 2006 tournament are now in place, with recent announcements of deals with RTBF in Belgium, ARD/ZDF in Germany, as well as with RTL for a defined package of live rights; HRT for Croatia; the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation – SRG SSR idC)e suisse - for the Swiss broadcasting rights; NOS for Holland; EESTI Television for Estonia; the Romanian Television Corporation (TVR) and Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation SA (ERT) for Greece.
