The Football Association is set to remain without a chief executive at least until the new year, as it continues to draw up a list of potential candidates.
The Times reports that 300 applications for the post, vacated by Mark Palios in the wake of the Faria Alam scandal, has been reduced to 10 names with the three frontrunners not expected to be interviewed until the end of November.
The FA board has also discussed the structural review announced following the Alam affair. But FA chairman Geoff Thompson is yet to appoint an independent figure to lead the review.
