Next January's New Zealand Open will be co-sanctioned by the European Tour, New Zealand Golf has announced.
The Australasian Tour event, which starts on January 20 at Gulf Harbour in Auckland, becomes one of the country's richest sporting events.
NZG boss Larry Graham said the deal between the two tours was for five years, with prize money topping 750,000 euros (NZ$1.5m).
