Dortmund sold their stadium to the commerce bank Molsiris two years ago for 75.4 million euros but are looking to buy back the 83,000-capacity Westfalen Stadium, reports lycos.co.uk.
"We are looking into the loan option from Schechter as part of our financial restructuring," general manager Michael Meier confirmed. "But no decision has been made."
London investment banker Stephen Schechter is thought to be willing to grant Dortmund a 120 million euro loan after the club confirmed a 25 million euro cash windfall from shares last week.
If Dortmund accept the loan it is believed the Schechter group want the club to mortgage part of their ticket income.
Dortmund failed to qualify for this season's Champions League and missed out on the UEFA Cup too.
