Ford’s team principal Malcolm Wilson has admitted that the Cumbria-based operation may only take part in European rallying events next season.
Wilson met the company’s hierarchy in Germany on Friday in a bid to keep his cars in competition.
Budget problems have also led to speculation that Ford may withdraw support for the Jaguar Formula One team.
