The news follows the recent announcement of Orange's three-year deals with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester City.
The partnerships are the first in a series of similar deals being negotiated with a number of the country's top football clubs, and support Orange's strategy of building brand partnerships that focus on delivering exclusive content via the Orange World portal.
Orange plans to partner up to eight clubs, offering content such as video highlights and SMS alerts. It will also offer tailored phones to each club, with personalised content and special tariffs. The benefit to Orange will be marketing rights at stadia initially, followed by revenue from the paid-for content over the longer term.
They have agreed a comprehensive marketing programme to communicate the proposition to the fans that will include programme advertising, perimeter boards, TV interview boards, scoreboard and stadium TV ads, leafleting, club mailings and on-line banner ads.
M&C Saatchi's brief is to manage the full hospitality and ticketing programme linked to each club contract, and implement PR activity across the season with each club.
The seven-strong team will be led by M&C Saatchi managing director, Steve Martin, and director, Jamie-Wynne Morgan, who joined the agency this week.
