Under the terms of the agreement, Tridion will become the team's 'Official Internet Partner' - a new position created to reflect Renault's desire to place new media at the centre of its Formula 1 communications activities.
Renault believes it has made its official web site, www.renaultf1.com, a key tool in keeping in touch with its supporters and the public at large, posting daily the latest news, managing fan club members and broadcasting live telemetry and strategy modules throughout the race weekends.
Since Renault's return to Formula 1 in 2002, www.renaultf1.com has grown to be the second most-popular team site in Formula 1, and is available in five different languages.
The site now receives nearly one million visits per month, with traffic doubling in the last 12 months. Tridion enables the site to be updated instantly and remotely from each race and test location, as well as enabling rapid multi-language syndication.
"Tridion is a central pillar of our internet strategy," comments Renault F1 Team head of communications Jean-FranC'ois Caubet. "Formula 1 demands versatile content management solutions that allow the team to distribute news to the public and key media outlets quickly and reliably. Tridion has allowed the team to communicate rapidly with our audience, while also enabling the seamless integration of innovative projects such as our live telemetry broadcasts.
“The versatility of the Tridion tools at our disposal has allowed us to transform the significant potential of multimedia communications into a market-leading shop-window for the team and the Renault Group."
