PARALYMPIC WEBSITE REVAMP

Tagged in , &

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has relaunched its official website www.paralympic.org

The new website will be continuously updated by the IPC with photos, news and information on Paralympic sport, including the Paralympic Games and Movement.

The website features new sections including specific areas related to development, fundraising, partners and patrons. For the first time, the IPC introduces an Athlete's Forum, giving all athletes with a disability the chance to discuss issues and "meet" with other athletes online.

During the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games, the IPC website will also feature a section entitled Paralympic News, which will have frequent updates from all the events in Athens. A Live Ticker will keep the user up-to-date about highlights, records, etc.

Miriam Wilkens, IPC media and communication director, said: "The new site is modern, dynamic and easier to navigate. More importantly, our goal was to make this website state of the art with regard to accessibility. The large amount of photos is inspiring and allows all to get an idea of what Paralympic sport is about."

In close collaboration with Netempire AG - responsible for concept, project management, technical implementation and web design - the IPC has tried to ensure that the site remains accessible and easy to use.
