Tagged in

The Football Association had decided to appoint an independent chairman to head a structural review ordered after the Faria Alam affair.

According to the UK's Daily Telegraph, enough members of the FA's 12-man board agreed to the move at a meeting yesterday.

The board has given itself another 14 days to decide how the independent chairman will be chosen.

It was also agreed that the vacant position of chief executive, following the departure of Mark Palios, would be advertised nationally.
