SPORT ENGLAND FUNDS PARTICIPATION

Sport England has completed its £108.5 million funding programme, ‘Active England’.

Active England is a jointly funded programme between The Big Lottery Fund and Sport England. The aim of the programme is to encourage creative approaches to drive up the level of physical activity and sports participation in England.

Alan Burdon-Cooper and David Becker, partners at UK law firm Collyer-Bristow, advised Sport England on the establishment of the programme, the award documentation and issues that have arisen from awards made under the programme.

David Becker commented: "We have been working with Sport England on this particular initiative since last summer and it is rewarding to see it come to a successful end with over 50 communities in the UK having already received their funding."
